Explosion!

Miner Courtyard (#6010)
Not especially large, the smooth stone area
is still big enough to accommodate several dragons landing or
taking off without danger from the cliffs. The ground is big
square flagstones, cut from pale granite and remarkably hard
wearing. However, at the midpoint of the courtyard is a creation
of a master stoneworker - a centerpiece to draw the eye. It is
a globe; a relatively stylized model of Pern, done with intricate
inlay work that has covered the entire orb with semi-precious
stones that gleam in the light - the high polish the work of
dutiful apprentices. In diameter, it would be approximately ten
feet (three meters).
Looking northwards, people can see an imposing
granite bluff with various openings cut into it - which is the
MineHold itself. Nevertheless, glance west and you see the ground
drops away steeply - a carefully paved wagon track leads down
towards Tillek Hold proper. To the south is nothing but rough
rocky outcrops, sharp-edged and dangerous land to traverse. The
east is also rocky but a well-trodden path winds through the
outcrops and up over a ridge.
It is a spring afternoon.
To the south, you see two people.
On the perch are Yarll, Feisty, and Rialie.
You see WELCOME sign, Olivia, Flamer Chargin Unit, flamer rack,
and Flamer Target here.
Kellamari, Filli, Niyati, Gaederon, Brellan, Surupa, Evan, and
Theodor are here.

Kaysa walks in.
Kaysa goes home.
Ktria goes home.
Above, Niamhyth shimmers in from ::between::!
Bryann walks in.
Above, Niamhyth glides down for a landing.
Niamhyth glides down and lands.
Bryann manages to get her sorry self down
to the gather, only to find that half of her fellow appies are
toasted.
Keral walks in.
Kariel walks in.
Lyri slides from Niamhyth's neck and lands
gently on the ground.
Hiliza goes home.
Gaederon looks about at the other people standing
or lying down and rushes over to see if his fellow smiths are
allright. He begins to reach out to help someone but realizes
his left arm is not working right, and looks at it. "Shards."
he shouts as he notices the blood coming from his arm. He puts
his hand on the wound and holds it tightly so it doesn't bleed
as much.
Natali drops to her knees, throbbing pain
in an aura around her whole body as the blast of light fades
away. She blinks a few times before crying out in pain, holding
one arm and her neck with the held arm.
Caylea has arrived.
Explosion? What explosion? Oh, you mean the
one that put her in Filli's lap? "Ow.." Is all that
Niyati can manage just now, being stunned out of her wits at
the moment, though she does manage to slide rather gracefully
back down onto the stone of the courtyard with a rather wet thud.
Caylea sees the crowd and immediately turns
right back around.
Caylea leaves the courtyard for the hubbub
of the main hall.
Kellamari sits, rocking back and forth slightly,
sobbing silently through her throbs of pain. A hand is clapped
firmly over a tear in her breeches, blood still flowing from
the big wound. Shivering from shock, she looks up, tear and bloodstained
face trembling along with her whole body.
Bryann manages to just stare wide eyed at
the carnage all around. She sees fellow Herders down, sucking
in a breath she rushes over. "Filli? 'Rupa?"
Looking them over she stupidly asked. "You
two all right?"
Caylea arrives from the hubbub of the main
hall.
Filli looks around and notices a smith in
her lap. Throbbing pain in her leg and arm she looks around.
"What happen?" she ask looking around and hearing her
name. "I'm uh.." is all she says.
Lyri moves away from her overly concerned
lifemate and, staying out of the way of the healers, looks about
at the mess. "I can move those who need it or go get more
healers." She offers in a rather loud voice. "I know
a little about taking care of wounds.." She turns and opens
a bag attatched to Niamhyth's straps, producing a few medium
containers of numbweed and hands then out to a few passing...
then just looks around.
Surupa is on the ground with her costume charred
off just a bit. Head upright and slightly bleeding from having
it scraped on the floor. Arm seems to be useless as well as her
right leg. Ouch, more like Ouch! She's crying out in pain at
the moment, shards of metal seem to stick out where ever neccessary.
What -had- happened here? A flash of light and then... PAIN!
Buffy blinks in from ::between:: and circles
about the room, wings stretched wide.
Kellamari just sobs, head burrowed once again
in her knees. Both hands are now held tighter over the big wound
on her right calf, in hopes to delay the bleeding. Trembling
with shock and fright, she simply sits there, rocking back and
forth like a hurt kidlet.
Filli looks over her body and hisses as she
takes a look. Yeah she would have had to been in the front. Catching
sight of bits of metal and burns here an there she takes a look
at her costume.. Ack well at least parts of her are still coverd.
Looking toward the smith who was in her lap she very slowly sits
up. "Are you okay?" she ask ignoring her own pain.
Hey after falling into a cave and breacking a few bones..stuff
like metal is not suppose to hurt..Right?
Lilting descent traded for a more direct approach,
brown Whoppereth makes a rather dive-bombing flight into the
courtyard, plummeting at an alarming speed. Nonetheless, he makes
a graceful landing, much to the pride of his rider, B'mac, as
two Healers clambor down the mammoth creature's side. Bags slung
over their shoulder, Kariel and Keral are here from Reaches.
"What in Faranth's name..." Kare
mutters, eyes wide as he pauses momentarily next to his mentor
in utter bewilderment... She comes in rather belatedly. But hey,
give a healer a break: She'd slept through the explosion. Right
through it in fact. Only her firelizard fair's screeching and
tugging had snatched her out of her dreams. And to what avail?
To be dragged across the courtyard by a rainbow of colored wings?
"Okay, okay, I get the sharding point!" She says, waving
away the group as she comes jogging up. "What /happened/?"
Shards. Caylea glances around for another healer, spotting a
few picking up the pieces. She spots Surupa and blinks rapidly.
"Sur!" She jogs over to her, hands flying to her pouch.
Natali grips her arm tightly as immense pain
radiates around a rather large wound on her forearm. Eyes squinch
as tears pour down her face. Her hand drops the wand as she huddles
to herself, free hand holding her neck where more pain circulates.
Keral walks in at the head of a trio of healers,
voluminous bag over one shoulder, clothes thrown on hasitly,
and takes in the situation with healer calm. After a few moments
of observation, he begins directing healers, "Kariel, you
deal with those ones." his hand gestures towards Cay, and
then neverminds as she already busiues herself with someone..."
Keral himself moving to Kellamari to start with, observing her
more closely, and then gesturing to Lyri, "Anybody who can
get up and move, take them to the infirmary at 'Reaches, bandage
them up as best you can, enlist someone to help if there's no
one in the infirmary, I'll deal with them when I get back..."
his hand already reaching into his pouch, bringing out a large
tin of numbweed.
Having never been in such an accident, just
a few scratches at that, Surupa clamps her useful hand on her
leg which holds plenty of gashes from the flying metal. So many!
So many in pain like her? She seems to twirl and tremble as she
glances down upon her -own- wounds and for the first time, getting
a good look.
Lyri heads back over to her dragon and passes
a few more small bundles to a passing individual, not bothering
to check for a healer's knot before nodding and moving about
to find those least injured and moveable. "Right."
Niyati isn't feeling anything......yet. You
see, that last bit of bumping, namely her head upon the courtyard
stones, was just the last straw. Now the smith, looking rather
odd as she is slumped backward over the bent flamethrower tank,
simply lays there, her only motion breathing and an occasional
twitch.
Gaederon tears off a bit of cloth and wraps
it tightly on his arm, tying it with his mouth and free hand.
He he then walks over to Niyati, who is prone over another woman
"Are you alright miss?" he asks (Filli) as he begins
to unstrap the Flamethrower from his fellow apprentice's back.
Niyati removes Craft Flamethrower5 from her
back and carefully sets it down.
You remove Craft Flamethrower1 from your back
and carefully set it down.
Gaederon lifts Craft Flamethrower5 and straps
it on his back.
Kellamari looks up to the healer standing
near her, and wimpers again, as her chin comes in contact with
a patch of blood on her left shoulder. Wincing, she looks up,
but doesn't say anything, just sits there and trembles.
Above, Dsalth soars in from the southwest.
Buffy suddenly disappears ::between:: with
a chirp!
Young Journeyman i scared, frankly. He's just
a midwife... he can deliver bebes all day, but this scares him.
Blod and tears and trembling... excpet that person over there.
Who isn't moving. Oh, that can/not/ be a good sign. Hands trembling
violently, lanky legs carry him towards Niyati and to her side,
hand moving to gently shake her shoulder... "Ma'am? Oh,
please, ma'am, wake up..." What's next after this? Um...
smelling salts. If she doesn't wake up. Squeek. "We're going
to need to get these clothes off them, Keral... aren't we?"
Above, Dsalth glides down for a landing.
Dsalth glides down and lands.
Gaederon takes the damaged 'thrower away from
the spots of burning agenothree, and notices a healer "Thank
Faranth you are here. The journeyman took the worst of it, and
from appearance, there's a herder there who got hit hard too."
he carries the thrower off to a safe area and sets it down.
Dsalth watches with interest as P'rru descends
carefully
Filli looks at Gaederon, "I'm alive if
that counts for anything." oh yes the always sarcastic Filli.
wincing softly she looks around. Wow what a mess. Looking for
Rupa she dose not spot the other herders. Pulling of a bit of
what is left of her costume she trys to get the bleeding in her
leg to stop.
Auri walks in.
Okay, so, the question now was who /wasn't/
injured? Caylea can only do one person at a time. There were
other healers about as well, so she turns her attention to Surupa.
"Oh Rupa...What have you got yourself into.." She shakes
her head as she pulls out her first aid kit. She searches the
wound for any fragments even as she bats Surupa's hand gently
away from the wounds. "You just relax, hun, I'll get you
patched up in no time."
Bryann stands there, frozen in place, probably
in the way, but she's too in shock by what she sees to notice.
Not often you come across roasted friends, and Bryann never wants
to again.
P'rru drops to the floor, a hand held tightly
around the riding strap as he lands. Eyes wide, the brownrider
surveys and assesses the scene in an instant.
Dsalth croons gently, head swinging as he
all but mimics his rider. "Lyri!" latching onto the
one person he knows, P'rru strides over, behind but close enough
to the action should anyone need an extra pair of hands.
Keral rather deliberately smears the wounds
of the girl in front of him, only as careful as time will allow,
and then wraps a tight bandage about them, ignoring the shrapnel
for the time being, and gesturing for someone to come and get
her to be shipped off to the infirmary. Keral, looking to Kariel,
gives him a wan smile "For now, just numbweed and a bandage
to stop bleeding, we'll deal with the rest back at 'Reaches,
once we've got everyone in the infirmary."
Keral makes his way to Gaerderon, "If
you would please tell me who was closest to the tank? They will
be most in need of assistance..."
Niyati shakes her head and attempts to brush
the foul smelling stuff away from her face. "Sharding...
what is that? Month old dead tunnelsnake?" She asks, attempting
to sit up and assess her situation. "Ooh my head... "
She winces and then attempts to move her backside. "Something's
sticking my butt!"
Natali attempts to stand up herself, arm and
neck still firmly grasped. Legs being a little wobbly, she tries
to make herself over to a supportive structure, leaning her body
against the Minecraft shop. Having enough courage to look down
at what the source of pain is from her arm, she gasps and turns
white. Suddenly, she feels lightheaded as the world around her
starts to circle before *cluck*...there she lays, on the ground.
Blue orbs expand twice, triple their size
as Auri walks in, jaw hanging, whole self aghast. "Wh-whaaat?"
Confused would be the one word to describe the young rider, horrified
could be the next. A chubby hand flies automatically to cover
her mouth. "Is there...Is there anything I can do to help?"
Lyri looks over at Auri and points to one
of the healers. "See if they need anything and, if not,
we need to get the ones who can be moved back to 'Reaches and
the infirmary." Orders? No, she's so stunned right now that
she's down to repeating what she's been told.
Kariel holds Niyati down, shaking his head
as he sighs... "Don't move your head ... you took a pretty
hard blow..." As he delves into his bag and begins to smear
numbweed on her wounds, he looks around frantically with a sigh...
"I need a long board to rest her on... so she doesn't have
to move her head... concussion..." Which is not good. Woo.
Bandages come out and he hastily begins to wrap her, trying to
avoid her head at all costs. "Just... relax." Easier
said that done, eh?
Kellamari, still trembling violently, looks
up to Keral. "Th-thank you, s-sir.." She manages, trying
to push herself up to a standing position, only to flop back
down into a sitting position, wincing with pain.
Bryann sees that 'Rupa is being cared for.
She then turns her attention to Filli. Is anyone seeing to her?
How bad is she hurt? Picking her way to Filli's side she manages
a grin. "I think you've outdone yourself this time."
Auri scrambles over to Kariel, alarmed and
concerned. Her tender little heart bleeds with sympathy for the
injured. "Oh egglets...oh dear...oh egglets...oh Kari, is
there anything you need? Is there anybody we can move back to
the infirmary? Is ther anything you want me to do? Oh /no/."
The big dewy eyes well up. Emotional, yupyup.
No, the month old dead tunnelsnakes were back
in the healer booth, nice and intact. Caylea examines the wound,
a long gash running down Surupa's leg, surrounded by a series
of other scratches. Mostly fleshwounds, but that gash would have
to be taken care of. She refrains from removing the small shards
left of metal and instead grabs out a belt knife. Priority, get
that costume off her friend..or at least her leg. The healer
passes a glance up to the broken arm. "I'll set that in
a minute..." The bleeding was worse. "So, a tunnelsnake?
Did you win anything?" She tries to keep up idle conversation
as she digs the blade into the costume's cloth leg. Once that
is done, she carefully peels it back. Hand flies back to her
lap, grabing up the cloth she'd placed there and applying it
to deepest gash. Keep Rupa talking and alert: That was the main
thing.
Filli looks around for a moment in all the
confusion. The pain wearing away at her she finally just lays
down and trys not to move. Noticing Bryann she snorts, "Never
ever be up front durning any type of demo." she says with
a softly sight.
Gaederon walks back to Filli "Alright,
how bad." he chokes at the leg and yells Help, someone."
Kneeling he attempts to apply pressure, but is nervous about
it, so he tears off part of his tunic and sets it over the wound,
and holds it there carefully.
Niyati squints her eyes and looks up. "You
try to sit still when you have something poking you in the a...um..
backside." She manages, looking about for other injured
smiths. "How's Natali?" Gaederon is spotted from the
corner of her eye and she motions the healer over toward him...
so that she can attend to that nasty poking feeling in her posterier
end.
P'rru chews his lip, what was it that the
healers would need? "Need any more supplies?" he asks,
leaning down nearest a high-reaches healer. "I can fetch
anything you need" and ferry people back to the infirmary
of course.
Keral gestures to Auri "Here, she needs
some help, get her back to the infirmary, and get her onto a
cot, we'll help her once we deal with the more seriously wounded."
he nods, and then, hearing Gaederon's call, makes his way to
the prone person at his feet at a run, on his knees in an instant,
and trying to get the bleeding under control.
Kariel looks to the little greenrider with
a sigh as he nods again... "And get someone to run inside
and find me a wooden board? It's a minecraft, shardit, we ought
be able to find one..." With a glace to Niyati he sighs,
nodding a bit... "Whatever it is, I'll get you off of it
as soon as I get that board." Someone? Anyone? People gawking?
Filli honestly screams when Gaederon touches
her leg. "That hurts." she hisses as tears run down
her face. Finally just taking a deep breath she looks at Bryann.
"Are you hurt?" she ask trying to worry herself on
something besides herself.
Caylea isn't a highreaches healer, but she's
also limited on supplies. She hadn't brought enough to deal with
this. She calls out towards the dragonrider, namely P'rru. So,
she's being a little out of rank here..but Surupa was in pain
and that discounted curtesy. "Can you bring me redwart?
A whole bucket if possible. I need more thread, sterilized. And
gaize, and clean cloths, and.." She continues on..
Above, Miravith flutters in from ::between::,
not a bit of her in flustered in the least. Didn't you miss her
awfully?
Lyri looks over at P'rru. "We're going
to need to go get more bandages and a few backboards.. find out
if we need to get anything like more numbweed and such."
She requests, already mounting her own lifemate and strapping
herself as well as a few mildly injured in. "I'm going for
a board." She calls out.
Niamhyth spreads her wings and takes off!
Above, Niamhyth spreads her wings and takes
off from the courtyard below!
P'rru swings up to ease himself between defined
neckridges
Above, Niamhyth glides down for a landing.
Niamhyth glides down and lands.
Gaederon turns at Niyati's comment and says
"I don't know, where is she anyway." Kerval arrives,
and he stands up "Thank Faranth you got here as fast as
you do. I have not seen our journeyman, and am going to look
for her. She was closest to the flamer charging unit.
Lyri clambers up Niamhyth's neck and settles
in between two neckridges.
Niamhyth spreads her wings and takes off!
Above, Niamhyth spreads her wings and takes
off from the courtyard below!
From Dsalth's neck, P'rru hears the orders
and is atop his dragon within the blink of an eye.
Above, Niamhyth winks into ::between:: in
a shower of sparkles
Dsalth spreads his wings and takes off!
Above, Dsalth spreads his wings and takes
off from the courtyard below!
Caylea *Spam, spam, that glorious ham O.o
Above, Dsalth wheels into ::between:: with
a groan
Bryann cracks a smile. "Nope, no smith
demos for me. This is why I became a herder. NOt often that rabbits
explode." she winces when Filli screams at her touched leg.
Shaking it off she answers "Nope, I wasn't in the courtyard.
Just heard the explosion."
Kariel looks to Caylea and shakes his head
violently, arms waving to get her attention. "/Just/ numbweed
and bandage them... we'll do everything else once we get them
to Reaches..."
Surupa is twirling still, head spinning. Too
a small hit since she mainly landed on that broken arm of hers.
Groaning in pain while tears still choke her she seems to mutter
to the Healer working on her, "Marks... " And are those
marks gone by now? Somewhere out in the courtyard or even burnt
to a crisp? Apprentice seems to gaze out again, are those dragons?
Of course they are! And so many of them leaving her behind! "Cay?"
She calls before a streak of pain glides up her leg and she gives
a sharp cry. Numbweed. Numbweed is good.
Niyati tries to sit up again. "She's
got to be over there somewhere.. shards 'n' shells, didn't anyone
thing to look?" Did she also mention that she's going to
loose that lovely bubbly she ate before coming here? "Ooooh
my.." The apprentice lays back once again. "And someone
get the courtyard to stop spinning... it's making me sick."
Kellamari looks up to Auri, a hand clamped
over the bandage on her leg, cheek against the one on her shoulder.
Errr.
Gaederon moves closer to the destroyed FCU
and begins to move boards and other rubble. He notices Natali
and leaps toward her "Here she is." he calls out and
immediately picks up the flamethrower, to get it away from the
burning agenothree. "She is out cold." he calls out
loudly "Someone come check on her, I have to get this flamethrower
out of here." Another leap, and a bound and he is off to
the safer part of the courtyard.
Caylea glances towards the waver and shakes
her head, glancing down at Surupa. "Those wounds shouldn't
be taken between.." He outranks her yes, but this was her
/friend/. HOwever, she did forget the numbweed. Yes, definately
numbweed. She digs her jar out of her pouch and blinks. "i
dont' have enough..." She glances over to the journeyman.
Kariel groans and holds Niyati down by the
shoulders, glaring at ther rather scoldingly. "Either stay
lying down or you're going to cause yourself some permanent damage.
/Ma'am/." Glare is of daggers; serious and chilled.
Filli nods softly to Bryann as she trys her
best to ignore the pain that appers to be all over. "Where
is Rupa and why am I still laying here bleeding all over the
place?" she ask with a frim snort okay only Filli can try
and be funny like that when injured.
Gaederon lifts Craft Flamethrower1 and straps
it on his back.
Auri twists the hem of her dress in her hands
anxiously. "Ok. Um...ok. Is there anybody who thinks they
might be able to stand, with help y'know, of course, or um...or
can take going between? Please speak up, and I'll take you back
to the infirma-" Even in desperate times the mini-greenrider
has trouble with large words. "Infirmary," she gets
out, finally. "The infirmary. At High Reaches."
Gaederon walks to the Stables.
Above, Niamhyth shimmers in from ::between::!
Above, Niamhyth glides down for a landing.
Niamhyth glides down and lands.
Lyri slides from Niamhyth's neck and lands
gently on the ground.
Gaederon walks in from the Stables.
Keral produces a leather thong, and ties it
tightly around Niyati's upper leg, immediately cutting off the
circulation and getting the bleeding under control. Bandages
and numbweed are soon applied to everywhere that is bleeding.
He turns to Caylea "Bandage the wounds, and get her on a
dragon, unless you'd like her to become infected, and quite possibly
die, we don't have the facilities or the time to deal with them
here." he turns to the riders, "She can be taken too,
be careful with her leg." And he's off at a run to where
the smith buried in the rubble appears to be residing.
Kariel mutters under his breath at the comment
as he sighs, looking to Caylea sternly, head shaking, making
him look elder than his years. "We don't have much choice,
now do we? Here, take some of mine..." Still holding Niyati
down with one hand, other tosses a jar of numbweed in the apprentice's
direction.
Natali releases a small groan but doesn't
open her eyes, as the pain is much to emense that all she can
do in close them tightly. Gripping her arm once again, her mere
whimper starts up again, as she lies there, half against the
shop.
Lyri wanders over and places a few boards
down, having unstrapped them from Niamhyth's side, and then brings
over a few more bandages and containers of numbweed before looking
about. Catching sight of Gaederon, she wanders over to the smith.
"Everyone accounted for? I can have my 'lizards go looking..."
Bryann stands up, scanning the courtyard for
'Rupa. "She's got a healer over there with her. Can't tell
how she is, but it doesn't look the best. Everyone injured looks
like raw meat to her right now. She rips off some of her sleeve
to carefully wipe up some blood on Filli until a healer can get
over to her. "Lemme know if this hurts....We need a healer
over here!"
A sparkling mote of light settles in front
of your face and Keral's voice issues from it.
Gaederon looks at the kind green rider "I
am not sure. I counted twenty people, but some may have walked
away in a daze, and ... of those here, some are helping. There
are just too many people about to be sure. But if you could come
with me to check on the journeyman. I think she is pretty bad
off. She was closest to the explosion." He begins to head
toward Natali again, dodging injured, helpers and healers alike.
Niyati isn't moving now.. oh no, her stomach
has given the orders. Besides, the courtyard is moving to fast
for her to put her feet down. "Um.. yeah but.. healer?"
She asks rather weakly. "Could we put me on my side? You
see.. I have this thing poking into my b.. my hind end and..
well.. "Auri dashes over to Kellamari. Ok, she's little,
but she's a tough little thing, and proceeds in trying to help
the injured victim up. "You okay?" she asks, high-pitched
voice squeaking with concern. "I'll be right there,"
is piped in Niyati's direction. "Mira's got room!"
Filli nods softly at Bryann and winches but
dose not cry out agian as Bryann trys to clean up the blood.
"I out did myself this time." she says as her green
eyes still watering as she not only looks like raw meat but feels
like it too.
Temper blinks in from ::between::!
Cyclone blinks in from ::between::!
"Don't /move/." Kariel repeats as
he stands, going to get a bodyboard from Lyri's trip and bring
it back, grabbing a rather bewildered bystander for help. The
man does a doubletake as HEaler drags him to Niyati's side, Kariel
nimbly steadying her head as the man cradles the girl in his
arms, lifting her slowly into the air... Kariel peering beneath
her to see what it was the girl complained of poking into her
behind-side.
Kellamari's hand flies to her shoulder instively,
and is soon buried in StormCloud's soft wings. "Okay Stormy..
c'mon.." She whispers, then, shifting her position slightly,
she looks towards Auri and does her part in getting herself up.
"Thank you..." She bites her lip as she attempts to
put weight on her injured leg, and leans as softly as possible
on Auri, finally mounting her dragon, with help. Shard it, let
the rankers have their way.
Caylea shakes her head, staring down at Surupa.
"This is going to..er..not feel so nice." She says
as she begins to bandage the leg. To bad the rankers didn't think
about the fact that putting a bandage over a shrapnel filled
wound is such a bad idea. Or that transferring between when there's
a good facility for healing at a /mining/ hall, where people
suffer from these injuries every day, was a bad idea. She scowls
but bites her tongue. "I can't carry her. Someone going
to help?" She asks, glancing around. When Caylea gets worried,
she gets testy.
Keral kneels next to the smith journeywoman,
numbweeding and wrapping her neck carefully, to stop the bleeding
for now, his hands start with her legs, and then move to her
abdomen, chest and arms, checking for broken bones, and finding
the one in her right arm, he grabs a convenient scrap of wood
and bandages her arm to it, looking around for someone to help
her to a dragon and get her to the infirmary. He scans the scene
to see who needs help next.
Cyclone loops in with uncharacteristic speed
as he begins to dive and dart into the debris. Chitters and chirples
are heard from the blue, as well as the green following him,
as they search out every nook and cranny.
Gaederon moves up to Natali and notices another
healer (Keral) helping her "Do you need another pair of
arms?" he asks as he kneels beside the injured woman.
Surupa keeps arguing with herself, mentally
that is, why did she have to come here to view this... what was
it? She just -had- to get that close. Bad Rupa! And now she sits,
dazed and in pain, and in a torn tunnelsnake outfit. And she
worked so hard on it! Yet she mutters pointless things 'bout
the 'snakes to her Healer friend. Including her flits which seem
to have suddenly disappeared. Are they alright? Bhim? Veer? Tadi?!
Above, Miravith glides down for a landing.
Miravith glides down and lands.
Bryann feels like she's gonna pass out, shaking
her head she firmly tells herself this is not the time nor place
to be fainting. "Shards, I'm not good with this much blood...."
she smiles wryly. "What is Master Tarmel gonna say about
you two?" she tries to keep this light.
Niyati sighs, guess she's just going to have
some rather odd peircings, eh? "I just want to be layed
on my side." Her pleading look goes to Gaederon. "If
this thing digs in deeper, I /swear/ it's coming out the other
side." And would't /that/ be pretty? "I don't mind
my head so much but.. well.." Ok, her backside hurts, folks.
Miravith makes a little grunting 'ooph' sound as Kellamari swings
up to slide down the green's smooth neck.
Natali manages to speak choply inbetween wimpers
to those assisting her, with tear-wilted eyes "It....it
hu..hurts!" free arm rubds her face to wipe away the tears,
but proves to be no point as more flow down her cheeks.
Kariel peers neath the girl to see what it
she complains of... hand trailing to try and feel what it is
and if he can do anything at this point.
Filli trys to shrug softly, "What Master
Tarmel says will be quite mild to how I feel right now.. And
we didn't do it this time..we were just watching." she says
as she looks at her leg agian. She feels like a roast wherry
at the moment. "As for this much blood. I would stop it
but well.." she gives a weak grin.
Auri hops anxiously, comforting Kellamari
as much as possible. "Um...wait just a second and um...I'll
be right back and um...Mira, be nice!" For once, the petite
green dragon is being a good girl. That's a surprise. "Err...Kari,
is there anyone you need me to take back? Anybody else I mean?"
Keral nods to Gaerderon, lifting on his side
of the woman, carefully favoring her arm, and moves towards the
dragons, upon arriving, he leaves the smith in the arms of a
rider, and the other smith, and makes his way back into the fray,
moving towards Filli, numbweeding arm and leg, and bandaging
both enough to stop the bleeding, putting scraps of bandage over
the rest of the cuts, and then gesturing for her to be shipped
out as well.
Above, Dsalth drops in with careful measure
from ::between::!
And, once again feeling nothing, he murmurs
to the girl with a snicker, "Don't worry... it's in a padded
area. You'll live until we get you to the infirmary." Still
steadying her head, Kare and the man lower Niyati to the board
and Kariel quickly secures her down with the straps. "Can
Miravith handle a bodyboard?" he calls, bloodsmeared face
turning towards Auri...
Above, Dsalth glides down for a landing.
Dsalth glides down and lands.
Bryann keeps sopping up blood off of Filli's
leg although her little scrap of cloth is soaked. "Wish
there were some free healers, you could use some numbweed. They're
loading people, so one should be here soon."
Dsalth watches with interest as P'rru descends
carefully
Auri eyes the green, noting that though not
too tall, the dragon's got some width goin' on. "Um...yeah.
I think she can. She's a strong little dragon, Miravith is,"
says Auri, pride slipping into her voice in even this sort of
situtation. "If you think that whoever can take going between,
she can." She blinks at Niyati. "Is she who you want
me to take back to the 'Reaches?"
Filli notices Keral and seems to relax as
the numbweed is applied. Catching the part about being sheeped
out as well she blinks. "No..Not the infirmary.." she
looks at Bryann. "Don't let them put me in the infirmary."
she looks a little crazed for a moment it's more than likely
just the blood loss.
Niyati sighs, blinking for a minute. "Did
he just say I have a big butt?" She asks, pausing in her
complaining for a moment before relaxing again. "Oh well..
it'll wait... but this outfit is ruined." Yet another inappropriate
complaint.
P'rru comes over to the crowd, a large bag
slung over his shoulder. "Redwort, bandages, mosstea!"
he hollers over the din. Caylea is spotted finally and headed
for the bag opened and slung to the ground. "Hope this helps"
he mutters, stepping back, hands automatically shirking through
his hair as he waits for any more orders.
Miravith (#11177) [Miner Courtyard (#6010)]
Virescent shades undulate gently over the
soft hide of her cherubic form, rippling down a smooth neck as
grass-green mingles with glints of molten gold. Innocence reflects
in a glittery halo, subtly dusted with malachite, set primly
atop her crown while her slim muzzle tapers into a childlike
expression. Inordinate wings carry a tallow hue, pale green whispering
lightly along the 'sails. Beryl spills across the capacious frame,
her youthful appearance shifting with the tenebrious shades that
stretch down her throat to hint at a vespertine nature. Verditure
comes to a conclusion, vibrant emerald fairy-brushed along her
back, winding down to tail and silver-taloned paws alike.
Heavily adorned leather straps, supple, pliable,
and expertly tanned, float sugary and fanciful in a warped swirl
of pink and white, berries and cream. The pink dye lies in hypnotizing
spirals, soaked into the original milky white of the blanched
leather. Florescent coralline stitches are sewed firmly and practically,
yet decoratively, showing the rider's dedication to the job,
as magenta handloops extend for aid in mounting, each rosy circle
bedecked by a frilly blush cherry tassle. Most marked, however,
are the silvery jingle bells that ring musically, attached to
more magenta leather loops in all places convenient and logical,
the argentate ornaments matching the brilliant steel of a neatly
polished, scallop-shelled buckle. Surrounded by the halo of adorable
light that surrounds Miravith is Kellamari.
Bryann takes Filli's hand. "See what
the healer has to say first. You might need some care for that
leg of yours." she says soothingly. "I'll stay with
you as long as I can."
Kariel nods as he lifts the head half, other
man taking the tail end and and carrying Niyati Miravith-wards
with a grunt... "Yes... carefu with her head, though, she
had a concussion and was out cold when I found her... when you
get to Reaches, she needs to be kept even and taken into the
Infirmary and laid on a cot. Don't unstrap her." Or she
might just stand up. Loading Niyati upon the dragon, Kariel quickly
goes to find a new patient ... ending up at Filli's side.
Miravith makes a little grunting 'ooph' sound
as Niyati swings up to slide down the green's smooth neck.
Rocky Road blinks in from ::between::!
Miravith,luckily, has a whole lot of straps.
Tassel, jingle bell, and lace decorated ones, but hey. They're
functional. And stylish. Which is a good thing. Auri clamber
atop her lifemate, making sure everyone's got a frilly strap
firmly about them. Double-checking Niyati on the bodyboard, she
waves goodbye to those on the ground. "I'll be back later
to check if you need me!" she yells, before taking off.
Miravith makes a little grunting 'ooph' sound
as Auri swings up to slide down the green's smooth neck.

Quite, quite high, nothing braves these heights

"Can you handle the nice person on the bodyboard, Pemmie?"
inquires Auri, scrambling about frantically like the hyper person

"Hi people. I'm Auri. We're gonna take good care of ya.

Living Caverns (#392)
The rough-hewn majesty of this cavern far
outpaces any delight in the multitudes of curves that form its
enclosure. The glabrous grey granite is shot through with translucent
obsidian, lending subtly-veined sparkle to the walls and the
foot-trodden smoothness of the floor that shows centuries-old
placements of the scarred trestle tables; carven hollows give
homes for the glow baskets and the coat-pegs that line the walls.
No mosaics, no painting, no tiles: just a few well-done tapestries
mark the pathway that lead to the kitchen to the north and the
inner caverns to the west, and frame the nighthearth's stew and
snacks, while a heavier strip of oiled canvas shields the unwary
from the wind in the bowl.

Ancient caverns unfold in an endless maze
of tunnels and stairs, the Weyr's cavities a labyrinth to the
uninitiated. Here, trimmed by the last of the stone cutters,
arched walls and vaulted ceilings retain the soapy smoothness
of well-worn stone, as do the endless tunnel floors kept clear
and tidy. Shadows creep and flicker across these glowlit mountain

Echoing and austere, blank stone walls are
vaulted high to overshadow the row of white-curtained cots along

of sinks and examination table, lit relentlessly by bright glows
and reflecting the colours of bottles and jars shelved above.
Padlocked cabinets hide the more dangerous drugs and implements,
whilst healer paraphenalia litters one solid oak table with sweetly-fragranced
herbs and tattered scrolls. A small hearth contains a fire usually
banked low, several cauldrons set ready nearby to for heating
water. A dark staircase twists up from one corner to the dragonhealer's
lair; one low door leads into the lower caverns, another to weyrhealers'

Cookies? High Reaches has the /best/ cookies. Want something

Pemeron slips through the door to the inner
caverns.
Natali just shakes her head at the offerings...there's
no way she could possibly hold anything down with the way her
stomach is feeling right about now.
Kellamari shivers, right hand clapped over
her left shoulder, and the bandaged wrapped around it. "Its..
it's freezing!" Her being from Paradise, and all, she's
never been in this type of climate, even if it isn't winter.
Lyri grabs Gaederon and manuvers him over
to a cot nearby. "Sit there and ask her, and keep this on
your arm." She instructs, then goes about to get others
settled as they wait for the healers to come in.

Lyri calls to Cyclone, who flies over and

Auri dashes outside, quick as a flash, and
returns with great amounts of blankets piled on her shoulders,
as well as a tray with various glasses of water on it. If there
were airplane stewardesses on Pern, she'd look like one of those.
But right now, she just looks like a psycho drudge, with the
blankets, the water, and the bizarre bunny ears she wears on
her head. "Water? Blankets? Anyone?"
Niyati sighs. "I still have something
sticking into my backside..which, according to that healer, is
huge.. I have a headache.. and I think I'm going to loose my
lunch.. besides that? I'm lovely." She chuckles, holding
onto the side of the cot with one hand. "Oh my.. my mother
is going to be so upset.. she got this from the weavers just
for my turn day and..." Ok, she's shutting up now.
Kellamari greatfully takes a blanket, and
a glass of water. "Thank you.. uh, what's your name, again?"
A hand is brought to her head, which throbs painfully.
Keral ducks in from the inner caverns.
Kariel pushes his way in from the ground weyrs.
Surupa is carried in by Kariel.
"Auri!" pipes the named cheerfully,
a beam of sunshine in the infirmary. Or so she tries to be. "And
I hope we can all be friends after this ordeal." She hands
out blankets and water accordingly. "If anybody wants water
or blankets, there's extras over here!" she calls out, before
waving a greeting to the healers. "Oo, good thing you guys
are here now! Yay for healers.
"
Natali starts to bawl her eyes out at this moment, ignoring her
pain momentarily as she covers her face.
Gaederon settles on the cot and holds the
cloth on his arm "Ouch." he says softly as he pushes
on it "Sharding loss of a good tunic." he says as he
looks at Niyati "And your dress is ruined Ni." Oh,
he called her Ni... well, that's different.
And the Healers have arrived. Surupa in tote,
Kariel crosses to the cots, lying her upon it gently before retreating
to the counters to douse his hands in redwort... this is gonna
be a long night. Scissors are retrieved, along with a large bowl
of cold water and towels... "I'm going to start dousing
the burns... then I'll start plucking shrapnel. You take the
more important stuff..." You're my senior, and all. Ya know.
ooc :passed out from looking at blood? And

Pemeron ducks in from the inner caverns.
Filli is carried in by Pemeron.
Bryann ducks in from the inner caverns.
Keral gestures to apprentices milling about
aimlessy to help Auri with the blankets and water, getting everyone
onto a cot and wrapped up in warm blankies, having several more
build up the fire and get it to warming up the room better. He
himself makes rounds once, taking in everyone's condition more
carefully before triaging.
Pemeron calls out "Got another here."
as he backs into the infirmary.Kariel trails towards Kellamari
rather hurriedly, dumping stuff on her cot before grabbing the
scissors. Espying where the agenothree landed, he immediately
moves to remove the burnt clothing with his scissors, cutting
tunic up the front. "Sorry." he murmurs with a sigh
as he tosses shreds aside, then moves to grab a towel and dunk
it in his bowl of water...
Pemeron wrenches open the double doors that
lead outside.
Niyati looks over at her Gaederon. "Oh
Gaed.. my clothes.. she spent so much on them and I'd never worn
them.. " Yet another source of hurt, though one would think
that she would be focused on her injuries (besides her backside).
"And my father came all he way to deliver them himself.."
Spangles glides to the Healers' Quarters.
Kariel nods briefly, sigh escpaing his lips
as he reaches to plop the dripping towel on her shoulder. "Don't
thank me yet... this is all going to hurt." And hurt it
probably does. The cold water moves to stop the chemicals from
burning any further, as he moves down to her leg to tenderly
feel along it... fingertips grazing across the break with a grimace.
"Egh. This'll really hurt."
Keral decides that Filli and her leg are in
most immediate need of help, a large basin of redwort is brought,
and he carefully flushes the wound out with it, making sure to
get all of it purified, and then he fishes out a needle and thread,
sealing the wound up tight with a long row of neat sutures, and
then wrapping it swaths of white linnen packed with a mosstea
poultice. He gestures to another apprentice to mix up a pain
tea for everyone, and to make sure that the doses are strong,
before moving on to the next patient, Natali.
Lyri helps to deliver a few requested items
and then moves herself back toward the doors. "I'll just
get out of the way, unless you need another pair of hands?"
She offers, frowing as she catches the actual number of injured
they transported.
Kellamari tenses up at the mention of 'really
hurting' and such. Her trembling starts again, as she looks toward
the healer helplessly.
Surupa is just staring now. Staring at her
surroundings and at the different people. Where might she be
at now? Head bobs and shes gives a shrug which sends a shrieking
pain up from her arm. Stupid arm. She'd smack in 'gainst the
wall if she could. Hmmph. She gives a sigh and releases her mind
to the pain while staring up while questions continues to run
through her mind. What will the other Herders think? Wasn't Filli
in the blast? Did anyone get killed? Where am I? Who is here
with me? Will I be alright? Simple questions with simple answers,
which she tries to solve by lifting herself up.
Bryann flattens herself against the wall,
away from the hustle and bustle of the healers. ARound her are
the sounds, smells, and sights of the infirmary. She's never
been in one before and she never wants to enter one again. Seh
smiles nervously at Filli. "Stay well and uninjured from
now on? I promise I'll do the same." Hopefully her line
of work will help that out too. Bunnies tend to not give people
injuries they can't treat themselves.
Kariel shhs as he looks at her tenderly, biting
his bottom lip. "Just... relax." And on the word relax,
he does it by surprise... best way to do so, you know. Pulling
bones out and then together, a soft snap is heard as the bones
meet in place again, set for now. "I'm so sorry..."
he hisses as his brow furrows... and he scurries off to get things
to bandage the leg with.
Filli looks at the sutures in her leg. Ouch..yeah
that's the word ouch. Surprised at how fast Keral was she smiles
softly to Bryann. "I promise I can only try...What happen
to 'Rupa?" she ask leaning up on her elbows to scan the
room keeping her leg as straight as she can.
Keral makes his way to Natali's bedside, administering
her the tea before moving to her broken arm, and undoing the
rough field splint, "Brace yourself, Dear, this is going
to hurt quite a bit... I'll count to three... One... Two..."
crack! He doesn't make it to three, setting the bone back into
place, and holding it there as he reapplys numbweed and applies
a much more substantial splint to it, binding it with wide linen
wrappings.
Kellamari's breath escapes her in one huge
sob. Breathless and speechless, she sits and trembles, hands
clenching and opening on the corner of the cot.
From afar, Keral wonders what part of her
neck the shrapnel is in, remember that we can only do very minor
surface surgeries...
Bryann looks around the busy room. "I'll
go see where 'Rupa is." she slides along the wall, checking
beds for the other herder appie. Finally she spots her and comes
over to 'Rupa's bed. "Hey, 'Rupa, how you feeling?"
she asks.
Gaederon nods at Niyati's unfortunate disclosure
"Yes, but they will be far more concerned with your life
than the clothes you were wearing. And that is what I am concerned
about just now, with all these others so badly injured, I could
have just gone to the hall after someone pulled whatever is in
my arm out and wrapped it. But now I am in this weyr, half the
world from my home, and no way to let them know where I am at
all, unless one of the riders can oblige to let the crafthall
know where we are."
Auroriel blinks in from ::between::!
Lyri heard that, she did, and nods to Gaederon.
"I'll have Nia inform your watch dragon, apprentice, and
I'm sure that word has already spread." See? She was usefull.
Vincent blinks in from ::between::!
Filli slips through the door to the inner
caverns.
Filli ducks in from the inner caverns.
Kariel has connected.
Kariel wakes up.
Surupa gives a few blinks to Bryann that seems
to have appeared in her view. She's dying, what do you think?!
Or perhaps she is just taking this too far... Herder Apprentice
then heaves a sigh and answers, "Alright..." Or not,
as pain seems to flow up from arm, leg completely forgotten now.
"Just broken I s'pose." Landed on it, what do you think?!
Rupa gives herself mental curses and finaly just seems to rest
back, "How's Filli?" She asks, having heard her voice
just awhile ago. It was her... right?
Keral moves swiftly to a small table, and
removes from it a long pair of metal tweezers, and a scalpel,
dipping both in redwort and rinsing them off. He makes his way
back to Natali, and applies some more numbweed to her, this time
on her neck, carefully numbing the spot where he's about to remove
the shrapnel from. After waiting a minute for the weed to set
in, he make a small, and very careful incision, widening the
original wound enough for him to get the tweezers in and fish
out a fingernail sized piece of metal, which is discarded into
the trash. He rinses her neck with redwort, and then bandages
it with a mosstea poultice as well before moving on.
Natali widens her eyes as the metal instruments
are worked into her skin, but closes then shut quickly. No, she's
not about to watch. Bryann shrugs. "Filli's doing ok, I
guess. She'll be fine, I'm sure." her voice falters here
since she knows nothing about how long it takes things to heal
or how serious wounds really are. "She wanted to know how
you were."
Kariel scuttles back over, splints in tow,
as he gives Kellamari an utterly apologetic look. "I'm sorry..."
he repeats in a whimper, placing a plaint on the underside of
her leg and holding it in place as he adds one to the opposite
side, then the two others, covering all four directions the bone
could pop out. He then begins to firmly bandage the break: not
too tight, but hardly loose. Can't cut off circulation, now.
And that done with, he trails to her shoulder again, removing
now room temperature and bloodied towel from her burn with a
sigh... "Now, I'm going to numbweed this, then pack it with
mosstea and bandage. Sound good?" And if not, it's too late,
as he's already begun to reach for the numbweed and slab it upon
the wound again.
Keral makes his way to Surupa's bedside, starting
off with her leg, probing it gently with sterilized tweezers,
and removing any shrapnel that he might find before putting a
few stitches into the more serious cuts, and bandaging it all
with poultice. Her arm is a bit harder to deal with, first applying
numbweed to it, and giving her some of the pain tea, he removes
the field brace, and prepares to set the bone into place, repeating
his counting method "One... Two..." snap! Never making
it to three, of course, not wanting to give them a chance to
tense up and do more damage... With the bone back in place, he
carefully attatches it to a pair of wooden splints with linen
strips, and gestures for an apprentice to help Surupa into a
sling before getting her another cup of tea and moving on to
Niyati.
Sploink blinks in from ::between::!
Kellamari nods her bloodied and tearstained
head, hands clenched tightly around the edges of her cot. Brushing
a bunch of hair behind her shoulder with a trembling hand to
try and clear the area for the healer, biting her bottom lip
all the while.
Snap?! Ack! A shriek emit from the Herder
apprentice, mostly from just the -sound- of the bone. Sickening!
Then the pain follows and she clenches her fist in an effort
to resist. Arm is good... Arm will be good... And yet the pain!!!
Soon gone that is... Whine. All pain seemed to have been numbed
from her leg. The salve doing its job that is, and yet her arm
snapping back seems to have hurt the most.
Kariel gently brushes her cheek in a comforting
way before once again dabbing the area with numbweed, moving
for the mosstea now... "It should stop hurting pretty soon
now..." he reassures, lifting her arms slowly to weave bandage
around and secure the mosstea in place...
Zara ducks in from the inner caverns.
Lisulath pushes his way in from the ground
weyrs.
Kellamari nods, trembling still, and closes
her eyes for a moment. Reopening them, she says quietly, "Can
you get someone to tell the Hold? They'll need to put Cordelia
in charge of the stables, Xaner can act as assis--oww!"
Her rambling is cut off by a sharp yelp, as a throbbing pain
pierces her shoulder again/
Pemeron ducks in from the inner caverns.
Pemeron walks in with a tray of klah "I
brought some Klah if anyone wants some."
~~~~~~INTERMISSION AS SOME TRANSFER TO SMITHHALL~~~~~~~~~~~
Courtyard (#7884)
Light, whether sun or moons-light, shines
through the branches of the surrounding forest area. The trees
standing above the buildings create a peaceful image, the wind
whispering through them calming and pleasent. Below your feet,
the courtyard is paved with stone, patterns winding their way
in in-set paths towards each of the buildings. A particularly
bright one, lined in glimmers of metallic bronze tones, runs
straight towards the main Crafthall. A few smaller trees, planted
so overhanging branches shade the yard, are surrounded with decorative
patterns of darker stones as well. Benches are set beneath them,
and along the outside of the buildings, to give travellers and
crafters, both, a place to sit when the days are particularly
good.
It is a spring evening.
Perched on a windowsill are Tirpitz and Sweetstick.
You see large wagon and Sor-chay here.
Gathering Hall (#8147)
The room seems to loom as you enter, though
the warmth within easily overcomes that feeling. It's huge, easily
taking up a good third of the hall, and offering room for most
people to sit and chat. The heat of the great hearth on the far
wall spreads throughout, the merry crackling adding a peaceful
undertone to the usually occupied room, heard even above the
murmer of voices. Tables are all but littered about, pulled into
and out of place by friends at a regular basis. Several more
permanent tables and benches are settled along the far edge,
an ever-full klah pot and several trays of various and sundry
snacks almost always set out for the hungry and bored. The walls
are decorated, tapestries denoting every part of Pern society
strung about. Along the wall above the kitchen, in particular,
is the pride and joy of the weavers: a string of dragons flying
Threadfall. The vibrant flames and metallic hues of the dragons
seem to glow as the flickering firelight strikes them. Above
everything runs a long overhang, people passing to and fro, passing
overhead of the figures and gatherings below. A handful of glowbaskets
light the upper ends, the rest of the mainroom light brightly
with candles and decorative lighting.
Various scents assult your nose as you walk
in here. The rich smell of foods from the kitchen. The fire's
smoke and heat. The sweet odors of various pipeweeds from the
gossipers surrounding the hearthside table. The aromatic baskets
do little here, except add their own faint undertones.
Clinging to a high beam are BloodBrother,
Silvire, and Princess.
You see Fireworks Tapestry and Bonehead here.
Smith Infirmary (#8767)
Although small, the infirmary is sparkling
clean and the faint smell of redwort invades the olfactory senses
within the first few steps into the room. Three beds are lined
up against one wall, each separated by a curtain that can be
pulled closed to allow privacy for both Healer and patient. A
long counter on the opposite wall allows for an easy work space
and place to store much needed supplies, plus, a deep washbasin
is included on one end for washing hands and equipment. Cabinets
on both ends provide enough space to store other materials needed
by the healer posted at the hall. The room is bright, bathed
in light from many glows placed around the room.
Baskets set into the wall are filled with
sweet-smelling herbals.
Auroriel blinks in from ::between::!
Kellamari nods, trembling still, and closes
her eyes for a moment. Reopening them, she says quietly, "Can
you get someone to tell the Hold? They'll need to put Cordelia
in charge of the stables, Xaner can act as assis--oww!"
Her rambling is cut off by a sharp yelp, as a throbbing pain
pierces her shoulder again.
Keral finishes bandaging up Surupa's leg with
careful linen strips, along with the now nearly gone mosstea
poultice, and ties a knot with the ends of the bandage to hold
it in place, and gives Surupa a bit of a smile before moving
on to Gaederon.
Gaederon has pulled off the sleave of his
jacket. "It's not too bad, but there is something shiny
in it, if you could." he winces slightly as the healer moves
in.
Keral probes around the wound very carefully,
"There's definitely some shrapnel in the would, I'll have
to take it out..." He pics up his sterile tweezers and his
scalpel, applying a bit of numbweed to the place, and letting
it get to work before widening the cut, and gently removing the
shrapnel, dabbing a bit of the poultice onto it, and attatching
a smallish bandage.
Gaederon winces somewhat, but relaxes as the
numbweed soothes the injury. "I covered it to keep from
getting dirty, and fear I pushed it in further. Shards, she just
turned and bumped the trigger... all this because of such a simple
mistake."
