As the Smith Hall Turns

Part VII

February 7, 2001

Etain walks with silent steps in from the Gathering Hall.

Etain walks with silent steps west.

Arakiel is groans softly in her sleep.

Jaina moves silently in from the Common Room.

Jaina smiles softly and sits on the stool next to the cot "I'm here, I might not be Evan but I am here." she says softly, her voice gentle but firm. "Please don't fight the medicine's too much," the healer adds, hpoing to calm the woman down.

Arakiel groans softly as she starts to grow restless. "Evan."

Arakiel groans softly as she starts to pull at the restraints, "...Evan... Where...?"

Arakiel sighs, not realizing, this is a healer, as she pulls at the restraint. "Evan. Don't..."

Jaina makes soft shhhing sounds "I'm here, Jaina's here." she says quietly, like she would a child. Because it works better that way sometimes, if she must she'll send a flit for Evan, though she really doesn't know where the man is.

Arakiel tries to shake her head. "Want Evan... want to go home..."

Evan glides silently in from the Gathering Hall.

Evan nods to Jaina as he moves to the stool by his wife's bed.

Pippin glides in from the Common Room.

Jaina nods towards Evan as she moves from the stool "She's restless, see if you could perhaps calm her down a little?" she says more than asks, standing back from the couple but still next to the cot to watch.

Arakiel tries to fight the restraint, move her head, "Where's... want to go home. Evan.."

Evan nods and places his hand on one of Arakiel's arms.

Evan smiles, "you're home love... Just rest."

Arakiel sighs as she hears Evan's voice, "Rest?"

Jaina smiles as she stands where she is and watches the two, then she pulls up a stool and perches on it, her silence respectful in its own way.

Evan nods, "You're sick, remember?"

Arakiel lets out a soft groan, "Evan."

Jaina chuckles and nods, "With this many people it shouldn't take much. Jacen nods in agreement and Diane follows in his lead, nodding as well, but she grins brightly as she picks at her Jammies. S'coe grins "Well, if we're that concerned aboout your poor, poor Keral. We might as well move to the Common room, Gui left by the way Tai. He went to do some errands." the rider says, winking at the girl.

Evan smiles, "I'm here love."

Jaina mms and checks the time-mark on the candle "If you like, its time for her to have her medicine." she suggests, making it a choice rather than a demand. Danna did say that she could have it after four marks even if she couldn't have it before four marks.

Jaina peers at Arakiel before taking and pouring a cup of the medicine, she sets the cup on a table nearer to her reach before perching on her stool again. She'll not give the woman her medicine immediately, afterall, maybe they want to talk a few minutes before she has to feed her that medicine again.

Arakiel searches as much as the restraints allow for the man behind the voice, as to be reasured that she's safe. "Evan? Nicholai?"

A questioning look goes towards Evan and she hears the name 'Nicholai'. Apparently, she doesn't know the man...but she is still new here? She just watches for now, if Arakiel hets restless she'll have to feed her the medicine, it'll at least calm her down...

Evan sighs, "We've been over this before love. Nicholi is somewhere in the NOrth. Don't know where."

The only thing that really keeps Ara from fighting, is the sound of Evan's voice. "Nicholai safe?"

Jaina hmmms quietly, her eyes pensive as she watches Arakiel but her mind working, so she's not entirely there. But she's there enough to listen to teh conversation between the two.

Evan nods, "As far as I know."

Arakiel sighs, licking her dried lips, "I'm thirsty."

Jaina is off her chair and retrieving some water before the woman can say another word, she offers the cup to Evan as he is her husband and she watches some more, before moving back to her stool, she glances towards the liquids she had brought in not that long ago...in hope that she would be thirsty...

Evan looks to Jaina and nods as he takes the cup from her. He slides an arm beneath his wife's neck to lift her head so she can sip.

Arakiel takes a few sips of water, smiling slightly, "Thanks..."

Jaina nods and keeps her ears out, listening for request of something else or just listening anyways...her eyes avert and gaze around the darkened infirmairy.

Evan looks to Jaina, "what's wrong?"

Wishing she could snuggle against the strong familiar arm that's around her. It's the only reality in ARra's fevered mind.

Jaina shakes her head "I was just thinking, thats all. Nothing is wrong." she says, her voice soft as her dark eyes dart back towards Evan silently.

Evan nods and turns back to Arakiel.

Arakiel sighs "So strong, my love." she whispered.

Jaina smiles again and watches the pair, her brown eyes pensive as she ponders something or other, probalbly some Healer type thing...

Lukelance walks in from the Gathering Hall.

Resting against Evan, Ara sighs with contentment.

Lukelance walks briskly into the room as if looking for someone, and slows down when he steps in. He looks up at Evan and a smile comes over the visible half of his face.

Christina knocks at the door from the Gathering Hall.

Evan looks up and scowls at the newcomers. "This had better be good..." he mutters

Christina delicately walks in from the Gathering Hall.

Lukelance quickly draws his grin to a straight line. "If you are busy I did not mean to interrupt you, I was hoping to finish my interview so that I could become a smith apprentice...."

Jaina arches an eyebrow at the newcommers before she is on her feet and already on her way towards that sideof the infirmairy "Can I help you two?" she asks, her voice quiet as she watches the two "And make sure you're quiet, we have a sick person here." she adds, glaring at Lukelance a momment.

Christina walks in, gently lifting her skirts above the ground. She smiles shyly as she enters, and nods to Jaina. No choice in that matter... she gulps, pondering her next move. To sign or not to sign? Instead, she offers a brief nod.

Evan stands and stalks towards Lukelance. In a voice quiet but firm, "My wife is quite ill. THere are any number of others who can finish your interview. WHy don't you find one of them?"

Lukelance frowns, "Sorry Evan, I did not hear of the misfortune.. I am deeply sorry and wish her to get well soon." Lukelance slowly turns and walks out, nodding towards Christina.
Lukelance walks to the Hallway.

Arakiel sighs softly as she falls asleep.

Evan turns and realizes that Arakiel has fallen asleep. After a moment he sighs and motions Christina to the Great hall, "We'll talk outside."

Christina bites her lower lip. She takes a deep breath. Nodding, she steps outside, looking quite a nervous wreck.

Jaina glances towards Christina "Can I hlp you then?" she asks, keeping her voice quite low as she glances towards Evan with a slightly grateful smile, shrugging as Evan has the girl go, she moves back to her seat, and keeps her vigil over Arakiel for the momment.

Evan turns to Jaina before moving out, "I'll be just outside if she wakes up."

Evan glides silently to the Hallway.

Christina delicately walks to the Hallway.

***In the Gathering Hall:

Lukelance stands and turns around to look at Evan, "Is she doing any better?"

Evan raises a brow, "She has Firehead. What do you think?"

Lukelance says, "I'm very sorry to hear of this, but I do wish the best..."

Evan nods, "My thanks.

Meanwhile in the Infirmary, Arakiel starts to stir ****

Arakiel sighs and snuggles deeper into sleep, knowing that Evan is nearby.

Jaina smiles to herself, finally happy that Arakiel is starting to settle herself down. Its a good thing when the paitent is willingly laying still, yup, it is.

Softly sleeping sounds can be hear. Ara dreams of a better time for once.

Jaina hmms softly as she smiles at her paitent. Her eyes drift away and towards the desk, a mess yet onceagain from the appys moving things around.

Arakiel's dream of a better time with her and Evan, knives and children.

Arakiel sighs as she starts to stir. Dreaming only last for so long as the heat from her fever starts to awaken her.

Jaina hrms and ponders, give her the medicine, or tell Evan that Ara's starting to wake? Shouldn't she give her the meds? Its been extra long but she slept...and wasn't restless, oh decisions!

Arakiel stirs, licking her dry lips. She asks, "Evan?"

Jaina nods her head slightly and wanders out to the door, she knows that Evan is just outside the door and will retrieve him for the poor lady.

Jaina moves silently to the Hallway.

Jaina walks just outside the Infirmairy door "Master Evan, Arakiel is asking for you." she says softly, her brown eyes scanning the people before the Journeywoman dissappears back into her infirmairy. She was told to tell him if she woke up, and she's at least calling him, its just as importiant, yes?

Jaina moves silently in from the Gathering Hall.

Arakiel moves against the restraints, as the fever awakens her.

Jaina makes small shhhing sounds as she reaches for the medicine, he murmurs a few words before she lifts the cup to the woman's mouth, encouraging her to drink the medicine.

Arakiel hearing Jaina's calm voice and allows the cup to her lips. Somewhere inside her, she knew that the voice was approved by Evan.

Jaina smiles as Arakiel drinks all the meds, she sets the cup on the table nearby and watches Ara silently, her dark eyes warm as her hand strays to settle on the edge of the cot.
