Examination This is an intense examination of the candidate Journeyman to be conducted by the CraftMaster, the CraftSecond, or any Smith Master or other group with the permission of the Master Smith or CraftSecond. This is intended to be a role-playing test of the player's ability to act as a Smith by responding appropriately to questions, thinking under pressure, and simulating a display of a certain amount of expertise. Once the apprentice becomes a Journeyman Smith, there will not be anything like the supervision of those apprentice days. The Journeyman is viewed as an expert Smith capable of independent action. The Journeyman is allowed to travel and work as a Smith. So this is the Craft's last chance, in some ways, to see whether you are a person who will represent us well in travelling about Pern as a Journeyman Smith. |
