Glasscrafting delves into several different mediums ranging from the typically expected glass to ceramics or pottery. It is by no means a restricting craft, but instead focuses and thrives on the creative abilities of its skilled craftsmen. Apprentices begin with in the craft learning from Journeyman and Masters who have spent vast turns applying their trade and skill to produce a wide variety of items. These items are then offered to the populace of Pern through trade or bartering for supplies or marks.

Glasscrafters are not just limited to the Craft Hall either! Glasscrafters travel, seeking out new orders as well as making deliveries to different areas and holds. There is also the need to collect the sand or silica that is used in the making of glass and needs constant replenishment, so life is not exactly unpleasant when the occasional night is spent near a bonfire on a beach having a BBQ with friends before traveling onward.
